UAEU signs MoU to develop palm dates field
WAM


Abu Dhabi, March 16th, 2010 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates University has signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with three different specialized companies to transfer technology of date palm tissue cultivation.
The MoUs also call for strengthening cooperation in scientific researches, technical development fields and providing technical assistance to establish a laboratory for tissue culture.

The signing was attended by H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chairman of UAEUUAEULoading..., H.E. Dr Hadef bin Jua'an Al Dhaheri, Minister of Justice and H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water.

The first MoU is signed for five renewable years with the American company "Phoenix Agrotech, second for one renewable year with The Malaysian company ICGT, formely known as the Asian Center for Genetic Technology, and the third MoU is signed with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
